AKB48 – Kimi wa Melody

AKB48 - Kimi wa Melody (君はメロディ)The new single of AKB48 Kimi wa Melody (君はメロディー) will be on sale on March 9.

This is the 43rd single of the idol group. It celebrates for the second time the 10th anniversary of the group (after the recent release of a compilation album in last November).

For this occasion, some former members such as the popular Maeda Atsuko, Itano Tomomi, Shinoda Mariko and Oshima Yuko make a brilliant appearance on the covers of singles and the clip. Although they have not participated in the recording of the single in its entirety, they perform the title track.

Former AKB48 member Maeda Atsuko and a puppet named Pu-kun speaking Kansai dialect host a variety show titled Country Ma’am Premium Show.

Atsuko Maeda - Moratorium TamakoThe movie Moratorium Tamako (もらとりあむタマ子, Tamako in Moratorium) starring Maeda Atsuko will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on June 25.

Former AKB48 member Atsuko Maeda plays the role of Tamako, a girl who has just graduated from a university in Tokyo and who is back to her hometown of Kofu. Without a job, she spends her time eating, sleeping, reading manga, and playing video games instead of helping her father living alone with her…

The theme is Russia. The CD artwork is inspired by the Russian avant-garde of the 1910s.

Seventh Chord is the theme song for the movie of the same name starring former AKB48 member Maeda Atsuko.

The MV has been released.

Maeda Atsuko to be starring in Eight Ranger 2

Maeda Atsuko (Eight Ranger 2)Former AKB48 member Maeda Atsuko will be starring in the movie Eight Ranger 2 (エイトレンジャー2).

Maeda Atsuko is going to play as Saigo Jun who is a reporter for a weekly magazine. She follows sentai superheroes, performed by the members of the band Kanjani8 (関ジャニ∞), in their activities.

Eight Ranger 2 will be released this summer.

Oricon Yearly Charts 2013

Oricon yearly charts 2013 have been released.

As for the previous years, AKB48 are the best selling singles artists. Sayonara Crawl topped the Oricon yearly singles chart with 1,955,162 copies sold.

Their sister groups SKE48 and NMB48 reached the top 10. Nogizaka46, HKT48, Morning Musume, Not Yet, Kashiwagi Yuki, Takahashi Minami, Momoiro Clover Z, Super☆Girls, Watanabe Mayu, Maeda Atsuko, and no3b (No Sleeves) are the other idols in the top 100.

Maeda Atsuko - Time Machine Nante IranaiMaeda Atsuko’s new solo single Time Machine Nante Iranai (タイムマシンなんていらない) will be released on September 18.

The CD contains 6 tracks. The coupling song is different depending on the version.

The Type A, B and C editions include a DVD with the music video and other bonus footage.

It is the 3rd solo single of the former member of AKB48 Maeda Atsuko.

It is used as the theme song for the TV drama Yamada-Kun to 7 Nin no Majo (山田くんと7人の魔女).

Maeda Atsuko in Asaki Yumemishi ~Yaoya Oshichi Ibun

Maeda AtsukoFormer AKB48 member Maeda Atsuko will be starring in the drama Asaki Yumemishi ~Yaoya Oshichi Ibun (あさきゆめみし ~八百屋お七異聞).

The story takes place in the Edo period. Maeda Atsuko plays the role of Oshichi, a girl falling in love with a page at a temple where she evacuated to after a great fire. After this event, she is accused of having caused another fire to meet him again…

Asaki Yumemishi ~Yaoya Oshichi Ibun will start airing on September 19. The drama will be broadcast every Thursday at 20:00 on NHK.

Maeda Atsuko Namida no Sotsugyou Sengen! in Saitama Super ArenaMaeda Atsuko Namida no Sotsugyou Sengen! in Saitama Super Arena ~Gyoumu Renraku. Tanomuzo, Katayama Buchou!~ (前田敦子 涙の卒業宣言! in さいたまスーパーアリーナ 〜業務連絡。頼むぞ、片山部長!〜) will be released on Blu-ray on July 3.

The concert was held from March 23 to 25, 2012, at Saitama Super Arena. Former AKB48 member Maeda Atsuko had announced her graduation during this event.

The Blu-ray box set includes 7 discs featuring the 3 days of the concert.

It comes with a 132-page booklet and 5 photos.
