\"BerryzBerryz Kobo<\/strong> (Berryz\u5de5\u623f) is a Japanese idol group formed in 2004.<\/p>\n

It is part of Hello! Project and produced by Tsunku\u2642 (\u3064\u3093\u304f\u2642).<\/p>\n

Berryz Kobo currently consists of 7 members. Each one of them has been assigned a color.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The captain is Shimizu Saki.<\/p>\n

The name of the idol unit means “Berryz Workshop”. It refers to the idea that the line-up was initially planned to change over time.<\/p>\n

Natsuyaki Miyabi and Tsugunaga Momoko are also part of Buono!.<\/p>\n

Biography \/ History<\/h2>\n

The girls passed the audition and joined Hello! Project in 2002. They were members of Hello! Project Kids along with \u00b0C-ute<\/a> before the creation of Berryz Kobo.<\/p>\n

They released their debut single Anata Nashi de wa Ikite Yukenai (\u3042\u306a\u305f\u306a\u3057\u3067\u306f\u751f\u304d\u3066\u3086\u3051\u306a\u3044)<\/span> in March 2004.<\/p>\n

Their 1st album was released 4 months later in July 2004.<\/p>\n

In March 2005, the idol group appeared for the first time in the Top 10 in the Oricon chart with the single Special Generation (\u30b9\u30c3\u30da\u30b7\u30e3\u30eb \u30b8\u30a7\u30cd\u30ec\u301c\u30b7\u30e7\u30f3)<\/span> which reached the 7th place.<\/p>\n

Their 1st photobook was released in May 2005.<\/p>\n

Ishimira Mahia graduated in October 2005. She retired from show business in order to focus on her studies.<\/p>\n

In October 2006, they were appointed as official supporters of the Volleyball World Championship along with Morning Musume and Def. Diva.<\/p>\n

The idol group held their first fan club tour in March 2007. The event took place in Aichi Prefecture and lasted 2 days.<\/p>\n

Berryz Kobo gave their 1st concert in April 2007 in Saitama Super Arena.<\/p>\n

In December 2007, the girls participated in the NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen (NHK\u7d05\u767d\u6b4c\u5408\u6226)<\/span>. It is a popular annual music show broadcast on New Year’s Eve.<\/p>\n

In October 2008, the idol unit won the Best New Artist Award (\u30a2\u30b8\u30a2\u6700\u9ad8\u65b0\u4eba\u6b4c\u624b\u8cde) at the Asia Song Festival (\u30a2\u30b8\u30a2\u30bd\u30f3\u30b0\u30d5\u30a7\u30b9\u30c6\u30a3\u30d0\u30eb) in South Korea.<\/p>\n

Berryz Kobo first fan club tour in Hawaii was held in March 2009.<\/p>\n

Their 1st live performance overseas took place in June 2009 in South Korea.<\/p>\n

In January 2010, Shimizu Saki, Tokunaga Chinami and Kumai Yurina served as PR in Thailand. They appeared on TV shows in this country.<\/p>\n

Berryz Kobo held a live performance in Bangkok, Thailand, in March 2010.<\/p>\n

Sugaya Risako made her solo debut with the song Elegant Girl (\u30a8\u30ec\u30ac\u30f3\u30c8\u30ac\u30fc\u30eb)<\/span> as Himuro Ibu in October 2010.<\/p>\n

In March 2011, the single Heroine ni Narou ka! (\u30d2\u30ed\u30a4\u30f3\u306b\u306a\u308d\u3046\u304b!)<\/span> ranked 1st in the Oricon daily chart.<\/p>\n

Berryz Kobo participated in Sakura-Con in Seattle, USA, in April 2011.<\/p>\n

Their show Kaettekita Berryz Kamen (\u5e30\u3063\u3066\u304d\u305fBerryz\u4eee\u9762)<\/span> was broadcast on BS-TBS between October 2011 and March 2013. The members played as sentai heroins fighting to save the world.<\/p>\n

The idol group went to animeNEXT in New Jersey, USA, in June 2012.<\/p>\n

Tsugunaga Momoko made her solo debut in July 2012 with the song Momochi! Yurushite Nyan\u2661Taisou (\u3082\u3082\u3061! \u8a31\u3057\u3066\u306b\u3083\u3093\u2661\u4f53\u64cd)<\/span>.<\/p>\n

They held new live performances in Bangkok, Thailand, in August 2012 and in March 2013.<\/p>\n

Natsuyaki Miyabi was appointed vice-captain by Tsunku\u2642 in April 2013.<\/p>\n

The idol unit held its first concert at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo in November 2013.<\/p>\n

They celebrated their 10th anniversary in the beginning of 2014.<\/p>\n

Berryz Kobo participated in Japan Expo<\/a> in Paris Nord Villepinte, France, in July 2014 along with \u00b0C-ute as the guests of honor.<\/p>\n

Their 36th and last single Romance wo Katatte \/ Towa no Uta<\/a> (\u30ed\u30de\u30f3\u30b9\u3092\u8a9e\u3063\u3066 \/ \u6c38\u4e45\u306e\u6b4c)<\/span> went on sale in November 2014.<\/p>\n

The girls appeared in the Thai movie The One Ticket<\/span> released in December 2014. The movie is a comedy about the father of a young girl who is a fan of Berryz Kobo and his efforts to get a ticket for the idol group’s concert.<\/p>\n

The members announced that Berryz Kobo is going to be on\u00a0hiatus<\/a> for an indefinite period of time in spring 2015.<\/p>\n

Berryz Kobo’s last concert will be held on March 3, 2015 at Nippon Budokan, Tokyo.<\/p>\n
