Each one of them has been assigned a color.<\/p>\n<p>The unit is based in Oita in the prefecture of the same name.<\/p>\n<p>The name Spatio comes from the words &#8220;Spa&#8221; (\u6e29\u6cc9) and &#8220;Oita&#8221; (\u5927\u5206). It refers to the &#8220;onsen&#8221; (hot springs) of the city.<\/p>\n<p>The members are also models.<\/p>\n<h2>History<\/h2>\n<p>The idol group was formed under the name Spatz in July 2011. The 3 original members were Abe Kayako, Kurista Ami and Goto Ami.<\/p>\n<p>Matsunaga Mirano was added in September 2011, and Oita Steffi in October 2011.<\/p>\n<p>They officially changed their name to Spatio in October 2011.<\/p>\n<p>The idol group debuted and participated in its 1st live performance in December 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Their 1st single <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Furusato (\u3075\u308b\u3055\u3068)<\/span> was released in March 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Spatio held their 1st live performance <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">The First Independent Live<\/span> in July 2012 at Bitts Hall in Oita.<\/p>\n<p>Former leader Kurisuta Ami announced her graduation in March 2013 to focus on her studies as she was going to enter university. She was half Australian.<\/p>\n<p>2nd generation members Oie Aika and Kajiwara Yume debuted in April 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Their 3rd single <span style=\"font-style: italic;\"><a title=\"Spatio \u2013 Surechigai School Days\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jpop-idols.com\/en\/spatio-surechigai-school-days\/\">Surechigai School Days<\/a> (\u3059\u308c\u9055\u3044\u30b9\u30af\u30fc\u30eb\u30c7\u30a4\u30ba )<\/span> was released nationwide in November 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Abe Kayako graduated in December 2013. Hirose Ayaka joined the idol unit at the same period.<\/p>\n<p>Ota Steffi left Spatio in April 2014.
