Each one of them has been assigned a color.<\/p>\n<p>The leader is Yajima Maimi. She is also the leader of Hello! Project.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The name of the idol unit refers to the &#8220;cute&#8221; side of the members.<\/p>\n<p>Suzuki Airi is also part of Buono!.<\/p>\n<p>September 10 is officially \u00b0C-ute&#8217;s day (\u2103-ute\u306e\u65e5). They hold an annual concert on this day since 2006.<\/p>\n<h2>Biography \/ History<\/h2>\n<p>The girls passed the audition and joined Hello! Project in 2002. They were members of Hello! Project Kids along with <a title=\"Berryz Kobo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jpop-idols.com\/en\/berryz-kobo\/\">Berryz Kobo<\/a> before the creation of \u00b0C-ute.<\/p>\n<p>The idol group was officially formed in June 2005.<\/p>\n<p>Hello! Pro Egg member Arihara Kanna was added in January 2006.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b0C-ute released their debut single <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Massara Blue Jeans (\u307e\u3063\u3055\u3089\u30d6\u30eb\u30fc\u30b8\u30fc\u30f3\u30ba)<\/span> in May 2006.<\/p>\n<p>Their 1st album <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Cutie Queen Vol.1 (\u30ad\u30e5\u30fc\u30c6\u30a3\u30fc\u30af\u30a4\u30fc\u30f3 Vol.1)<\/span> was released 5 months later in October 2006.<\/p>\n<p>Murakami Megumi withdrew in November 2006 in order to focus on her studies.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b0C-ute released their major debut single <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Sakura Chirari (\u685c\u30c1\u30e9\u30ea)<\/span> in February 2007. It was ranked 5th on Oricon weekly chart.<\/p>\n<p>The idol group won the Best New Artist award at the 49th Japan Record Award (\u7b2c49\u56de\u65e5\u672c\u30ec\u30b3\u30fc\u30c9\u5927\u8cde) ceremony in December 2007.<\/p>\n<p>The girls participated in the <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen (NHK\u7d05\u767d\u6b4c\u5408\u6226)<\/span> in December 2007. It is a popular annual music show broadcast on New Year&#8217;s Eve.<\/p>\n<p>In February 2009, Arihara Kanna went on hiatus due to hallux valgus. She left the idol unit in July 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Umeda Erika announced her graduation in October 2009 in order to become a fashion model.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b0C-ute opened their blog in April 2010 and their official YouTube channel in October 2010.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-10238\" src=\"http:\/\/static.jpop-idols.com\/uploads\/2013\/04\/c-ute.jpg\" alt=\"\u00b0C-ute\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>The idol group participated in Japan Expo in France in July 2013.
