\"\u00b0C-ute\"\u00b0C-ute<\/strong> is a Japanese idol group formed in June 2005. It is part of Hello! Project and produced by Tsunku\u2642 (\u3064\u3093\u304f\u2642).<\/p>\n

It currently consists of 5 members. Each one of them has been assigned a color.<\/p>\n

The leader is Yajima Maimi. She is also the leader of Hello! Project.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The name of the idol unit refers to the “cute” side of the members.<\/p>\n

Suzuki Airi is also part of Buono!.<\/p>\n

September 10 is officially \u00b0C-ute’s day (\u2103-ute\u306e\u65e5). They hold an annual concert on this day since 2006.<\/p>\n

Biography \/ History<\/h2>\n

The girls passed the audition and joined Hello! Project in 2002. They were members of Hello! Project Kids along with Berryz Kobo<\/a> before the creation of \u00b0C-ute.<\/p>\n

The idol group was officially formed in June 2005.<\/p>\n

Hello! Pro Egg member Arihara Kanna was added in January 2006.<\/p>\n

\u00b0C-ute released their debut single Massara Blue Jeans (\u307e\u3063\u3055\u3089\u30d6\u30eb\u30fc\u30b8\u30fc\u30f3\u30ba)<\/span> in May 2006.<\/p>\n

Their 1st album Cutie Queen Vol.1 (\u30ad\u30e5\u30fc\u30c6\u30a3\u30fc\u30af\u30a4\u30fc\u30f3 Vol.1)<\/span> was released 5 months later in October 2006.<\/p>\n

Murakami Megumi withdrew in November 2006 in order to focus on her studies.<\/p>\n

\u00b0C-ute released their major debut single Sakura Chirari (\u685c\u30c1\u30e9\u30ea)<\/span> in February 2007. It was ranked 5th on Oricon weekly chart.<\/p>\n

The idol group won the Best New Artist award at the 49th Japan Record Award (\u7b2c49\u56de\u65e5\u672c\u30ec\u30b3\u30fc\u30c9\u5927\u8cde) ceremony in December 2007.<\/p>\n

The girls participated in the NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen (NHK\u7d05\u767d\u6b4c\u5408\u6226)<\/span> in December 2007. It is a popular annual music show broadcast on New Year’s Eve.<\/p>\n

In February 2009, Arihara Kanna went on hiatus due to hallux valgus. She left the idol unit in July 2009.<\/p>\n

Umeda Erika announced her graduation in October 2009 in order to become a fashion model.<\/p>\n

\u00b0C-ute opened their blog in April 2010 and their official YouTube channel in October 2010.<\/p>\n

\"\u00b0C-ute\"The idol group participated in Japan Expo in France in July 2013. They gave their first overseas live performance which was titled \u00b0C-ute Cutie Circuit ~Voyage \u00e0 Paris~<\/a><\/span> at La Cigale.<\/p>\n

The held their first concert at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo in September 2013.<\/p>\n

In March 2014, the girls collaborated with Reebok for a marketing campaign for Your Reebok<\/span>, the online shop of the worldwide sports manufacturer which allow people to make sneakers their own design.<\/p>\n

\"\u00b0C-ute\"\u00b0C-ute participated again in Japan Expo<\/a> in Paris Nord Villepinte, France, in July 2014 along with Berryz Kobo as the guests of honor.<\/p>\n

In December 2014, Nakajima Saki was appointed as strawberry ambassador of Chichibu city in Saitama prefecture.<\/p>\n

In March 2015, their blogging platform was switched from Gree to Ameba.<\/p>\n

The single\u00a0Tsugi no Kado wo Magare \/ Gamusha Life \/ The Middle Management ~Josei Chuukan Kanrishoku~<\/a><\/span> commemorated the 10th anniversary of the idol group in April 2015.<\/p>\n

\u00b0C-ute Cutie Circuit \uff5e\u00a1Vamos a M\u00e9xico!\uff5e<\/a><\/span> was held in September 2015.<\/p>\n

In October 2015, Suzuki Airi served as a model for Suzunoya kimonos for the 2nd consecutive year.<\/p>\n

In November\u00a02015, Yajima Maimi appeared in the MV for\u00a0Love Story<\/span>\u00a0by Taiwanese band Magic Power.<\/p>\n

\"\u00b0C-ute\"Various artists such as Nakajima Takui, Shock Eye (Shonan no Kaze), Miura Yoshiko, Kondo Kaoru, Nakamura Yoshinori, Hoshibe Sho, Jean-Luc Ponpon, Kodama Ameko, Watanabe Yasushi, and Tsunku\u2642 wrote songs for \u00b0C-ute’s 9th album \u00b0Cmaj9<\/a><\/span> on sale in December 2015.<\/p>\n

Their 29th single Naze Hito wa Arasoundaro? \/ Summer Wind \/ Jinsei wa Step!<\/a> (\u4f55\u6545 \u4eba\u306f\u4e89\u3046\u3093\u3060\u308d\u3046? \/ Summer Wind \/ \u4eba\u751f\u306fStep!)<\/span>, released in April 2016, includes more mature songs.<\/p>\n

\u00b0C-ute held a concert in Hong Kong in May 2016.<\/p>\n

\"\u00b0C-ute\"Okai Chisato went temporary on hiatus due to medical treatment for vocal cord nodule in May 2016.<\/p>\n

Suzuki Airi hosts the program i-dio<\/span> since July 2016.<\/p>\n

Yajima Maimi’s photobook Hitori no Kisetsu (\u3072\u3068\u308a\u306e\u5b63\u7bc0)<\/span> was published in August 2016.<\/p>\n

\u00b0C-ute will break up and graduate<\/a> from Hello! Project in June 2017 after a last live performance at the Saitama Super Arena.<\/p>\n
