\"GEMGEM<\/strong> (Girls Entertainment Mixture) is a Japanese idol group formed in December 2012 by iDOL Street.<\/p>\n

It currently consists of 11 members. Each one of them has been assigned a gemstone.<\/p>\n

The leader is Kanazawa Yuki.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

GEM is a sister group of Super\u2606Girls<\/a> and Cheeky Parade<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The meaning of the unit’s name is that these girls “are going to become like precious stones one they will be polished”. It is also an abbreviation for “Girls Entertainment Mixture”.<\/p>\n

Ito Chisami is the elder sister of Team Syachihoko<\/a>‘s Ito Chiyuri.<\/p>\n

\"GEMOn June 12, 2013, the 10 official members have been announced during a concert held at Nippon Budokan to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of Super\u2606Girls. They were part of iDOL Street Street-sei (\u30b9\u30c8\u30ea\u30fc\u30c8\u751f)<\/p>\n

GEM released their major debut single We’re GEM<\/a><\/span> on January 1, 2014.<\/p>\n

In March, the idol unit was chosen as supporters of Shizuoka Marathon 2014 (\u9759\u5ca1\u30de\u30e9\u30bd\u30f32014).<\/p>\n

Their 1st nationwide concert tour GEM Live Mixture 2014 ~Black or White~<\/span> took place between March and May in Nagoya, Tokyo, Fukuoka and Shizuoka.<\/p>\n

\"GEMIn April 2014, the members were appointed as image characters for Revive Moist shampoo. They appeared in commercials.<\/p>\n

In July 2014, Takeda Maya became a police officer for one day in Fukui Prefecture. She participated in a transportation safety campaign and in crime-prevention programs.<\/p>\n

In October 2014, Kanazawa Yuki was starring in the stage play Debug Treasure (\u30c7\u30d0\u30c3\u30b0\u30c8\u30ec\u30b8\u30e3\u30fc)<\/span> along with Miyazaki Rina (Super\u2606Girls).<\/p>\n

\"GEMThe 4th iDOL Street Sports Festival (\u7b2c4\u56de \u79cb\u306e\u5927\u904b\u52d5\u4f1a2014 \uff5e\u30a2\u30a4\u30c9\u30eb\u306e\u6c57\u304c\u7729\u3057\u3059\u304e\u30f3\u3060\u3088\u3049!!\uff5e)<\/span> was held in November 2014. GEM, Super\u2606Girls and Cheeky Parade took part in various sports challenges.<\/p>\n

Kanazawa Yuki, Shimura Rika (Super\u2606Girls) and\u00a0Sekine Yuna (Cheeky Parade) make regular appearances on the show Harajuku Base (\u539f\u5bbf\u30d9\u30fc\u30b9)<\/span> on Chiba TV since January 2015. They talk about Harajuku fashion.<\/p>\n

\"Chouzetsu\u2606Utagekidan21 members from GEM, Super\u2606Girls and Cheeky Parade performed in the theater show Chouzetsu\u2606Utagekidan 2015 ~Super World\u2606Returns~ (\u8d85\u7d76\u2606\u6b4c\u5287\u56e3 2015 \uff5eSuper World\u2606Returns\uff5e)<\/span> at Tokyo DDD Aoyama Cross Theater in February 2015. Teams were led by Murakami Rana, Watanabe Koume and Mizorogi Seran.<\/p>\n

Some girls took a special\u00a0certification exam organized by iDOL Street in March 2015. Murakami Rana, Morioka Yu and Iyama Maho passed the test with 90, 80 and 90 points. They received a commemorative badge and an invitation to a special event.<\/p>\n

\"GEMIn April 2015, Murakami Rana, Minamiguchi Nana (GEM), Takahashi Mari, Tominaga Mimori (Dorothy Little Happy<\/a>), Nagao Mami, Moriya Sakura (X21<\/a>) formed the special unit Magical Dreamin (\u30de\u30b8\u30ab\u30eb\u2606\u3069\u308a\u30fc\u307f\u3093) to perform the opening theme song for the anime Jewel Pet Magical Change (\u30b8\u30e5\u30a8\u30eb\u30da\u30c3\u30c8 \u30de\u30b8\u30ab\u30eb\u30c1\u30a7\u30f3\u30b8)<\/span>.<\/p>\n

In June 2015, comedian Kuro-chan (\u30af\u30ed\u3061\u3083\u3093) revealed on the show Sukkiri (\u30b9\u30c3\u30ad\u30ea)<\/span> that GEM was one of his favorite idol groups.<\/p>\n

In June 2015, Ito Chisami decided to go on temporary hiatus in order to work on improving her skills.<\/p>\n

The 3 digital singles Delightful Days<\/span>, You You You<\/span> and No Girls No Fun<\/span> were released simultenaously on the same month.<\/p>\n

GEM’s 4th single Baby, Love Me!<\/a><\/span>, on sale in September 2015, is the ending theme song for the anime Jewel Pet (\u30b8\u30e5\u30a8\u30eb\u30da\u30c3\u30c8)<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Ito Chisami resumed activities in October 2015.<\/p>\n

\"GirlsIn November 2015, Murakami Rana, Iyama Maho, Morioka Yu, Oguri Kako, Takeda Maya, Minamiguchi Nana, Kanazawa Yuki (GEM), Asakawa Nana, Maeshima Ami, Watanabe Koume (Super\u2606Girls), Nizorogi Seran (Cheeky Parade), Matsunaga Nene (Girls Street Audition) were starring in the stage play Girls Street Theater 2015 Za Hana Miyo Concerto (\u5ea7\u30fb\u82b1\u5fa1\u4ee3\u30b3\u30f3\u30c1\u30a7\u30eb\u30c8)<\/span>.<\/p>\n

In January 2016,\u00a0Takeda Maaya<\/a> announced that she\u00a0was\u00a0going to temporarily suspend activities during 2 years in order to study in Los Angeles with Suzuki Mariya and Yamamoto Mari\u00a0(Cheeky Parade).<\/p>\n

The members host their first regular variety show GEM Can Do It?<\/span> on Pigoo since January 2016.<\/p>\n

\"GEMIn March 2016, GEM will release the single Fine! ~fly for the future~<\/a><\/span>\u00a0and their 1st album Girls Entertainment Mixture<\/span>\u00a0on the same day.<\/p>\n

Oguri Kako and\u00a0Iyama Maho worked as models for Spinns fashion brand in March 2016. At the same time, Oguri Kako also became a special model for gonoturn.<\/p>\n

In late March 2016, Iyama Maho went on hiatus to undergo medical treatment. She resumed activities in April 2016.<\/p>\n

Noguchi Monami and Nishida Hirari<\/a> joined GEM as new members after the departure of Takeda Maaya to Los Angeles in June 2016. Noguchi Monami studied at an international school, and she can speak English.<\/p>\n
