\"5572320The release of 5572320<\/strong>‘s 2nd single Ponpara Pecorna Papiyotta<\/strong> (\u30dd\u30f3\u30d1\u30e9 \u30da\u30b3\u30eb\u30ca \u30d1\u30d4\u30e8\u30c3\u30bf)<\/span> was announced on October 5th.<\/p>\n

5572320 (\u4e94\u4e94\u4e03\u4e8c\u4e09\u4e8c\u3007 ; go go nana ni san ni rei) is a performance unit dubbing themselves members of Shiritsu Ebisu Chugaku<\/a><\/strong> (\u79c1\u7acb\u6075\u6bd4\u5bff\u4e2d\u5b66) and formed for the 50th anniversary of Coconut Sable.<\/p>\n

Their 1st single, Half a Century Honor Student<\/a> (\u534a\u4e16\u7d00\u512a\u7b49\u751f ; Hanseiki Yuutousei)<\/span> released this March, was an unusual combination of five guitarists and three drummers, for a super-heavy rock number. The music video broke 1.8M views within a week of its release, and the group has caused a buzz as a “mysterious girl band”.<\/p>\n

Ponpara Pecorna Papiyotta<\/span>, the group\u2019s 2nd single, sees a star-studded lineup of artists, with Yoko Kanno composing the song and KenKen, Hideki Aoyama, and Tsuneo Imahori performing.<\/p>\n

The 1st single was Coconut Sable\u2019s attempt to transition away from the image of a mundane snack, with a hard rock performance. By contrast, the new track explores the trials and tribulations of teenage girls transitioning from children to adults, with the inner conflict of whether one should embrace or resist change. The music video explores their innermost thoughts in a surrealistic fashion.<\/p>\n
