Biography / History
As the word “metro” means “underground”, the unit’s name is used to express the idea that there is a world with many indie idols.
Metropolis also refers to the 1927 German movie of the same name by Fritz Lang. One of the themes of the film is about a female android.
The synopsis is that Ririco and the other members of the idol group come from “True Earth”, an underground world. They were sent to the surface of the planet to study the reasons of humans’ enthusiasm. The girls use a psychic ability called “Metro-contact” to absorb the knowledge and the memories of otaku fans met during live performances, autograph and handshake events.
Hayasaka Misaki, Asahina Ren and Asahi Kana are junior gravure idols. Despite their young age, they have already released solo DVDs before joining Metropolis.
Kamiyoshi Kanna tends to forget everything when she is on stage. As a result, the nickname Bakanna was given to her by the staff.
