AKB0048 Vol.4 DVD and blu-ray will be released on September 26.
This is the 4th release of AKB0048 anime TV series based on the popular AKB48 idol group. It was produced by Satelight Studio, directed Kawamori Shoji (Macross series) and characters designed by Ebata Risa (Macross F).
The DVD and blu-ray versions include episodes 8 to 10, a booklet (16 pages), bonus video footage and audio commentary.
AKB48 29th Single Senbatsu Janken Tournament (AKB48 29thシングル選抜じゃんけん大会) took place on September 18 at Nippon Budoukan.
Shimazaki Haruka (Team 4) won the tournament. She will become the center for AKB48’s 29th single.

AKB48 participated in a campain to promote Glico’s Ice no Mi (アイスの実) candy.
A series of 5 TV commercials was created. Maeda Atsuko plays the role of a detective who has to solve a murder mystery. All members of AKB48 are suspected.
The story was written by Detective Conan mangaka Aoyama Gosho based on an original storyline by AKB48 producer Akimoto Yasushi.
Matsui Sakiko’s (AKB48) 1st album Kokyuu Suru Piano (呼吸するピアノ) will be released on October 3.
This piano instrumental album contains 7 cover songs from AKB48 and 3 original tracks.
Limited edition comes with a DVD featuring music video and bonus footage.
To celebrate Maeda Atsuko’s graduation from AKB48, a photo mosaic has been created with 10,000 pictures sent by fans.
The photo mosaic is available on an official website between August 28 and September 30. By clicking on it, each picture and message from fans can be seen in detail.
The poster is also displayed at AKB48 Theater between August 27 and September 3.
AKB48 announced a team shuffle.
Team 4 is discontinued. Teams A, K and B have been completely reorganized.
Some members leave the group : Ōta Aika was transferred to HKT48, Takajō Aki and Nakagawa Haruka to JKT48, Miyazawa Sae and Mariya Suzuki to SNH48.
Takahashi Minami is still the leader of AKB48. However the new captains are Shinoda Mariko (Team A), Ōshima Yūko (Team K) and Umeda Ayaka (Team B).
Ono Erena’s 2nd solo single Erenyan (えれにゃん) will be released on October 3.
The lyrics of the title song were written by Ono Erena (ex AKB48) herself.
The limited editions come with a DVD featuring a music video and/or a making-of depending on the version.
All editions include a trading card randomly selected from 5 kinds.
The DVD Erepyon The Movie (えれぴょん The Movie) starring Ono Erena (ex AKB48) will be released on August 29.
Erepyon The Movie is a documentary film about Ono Erena’s activities until her solo debut.
The DVD features footage of recordings, photo shoots, fan club events, and more.
The video game AKB1/153 Renai Sousenkyo (AKB1/153 恋愛総選挙) will be released on December 20.
AKB1/153 Renai Sousenkyo is a dating simulation featuring the 153 members of AKB48, SKE48, NMB48 and HKT48.
The special edition includes AKB48 making of video (4 DVD, 400mn), SKE48 making of video (3 DVD, 300mn), NMB48 making of video (2 DVD, 200mn), HKT48 making of video (1 DVD, 100mn). It also comes with a special photobook (more than 150 pages), 10 pictures and special download contents.
The game is available on PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Vita.
AKB48’s concert DVD Maeda Atsuko Namida no Sotsugyou Sengen! in Saitama Super Arena ~Gyomu Renraku. Tanomuzo, Katayama Bucho!~ (前田敦子 涙の卒業宣言! in さいたまスーパーアリーナ 〜業務連絡。頼むぞ、片山部長!〜) will be released on September 5.
