Check out the live report and pictures of the finals.

Japan Expo Official Collaboration Event Tokyo Candoll started on February 10th, 2016. This event is a contest where Japanese idols compete of the right to perform on Japan Expo Main Stage. The winner is decided by the votes of the audience. During the first contest last year, over 80 idol groups participated and Luce Twinkle Wink☆ won. They performed at Japan Expo representing Japan’s next generation idols.

This year the contest was held the second time. 92 idol groups participated this time. The event was full of tears and smiles from the first rounds to the final for 3 months. The final was held on May 22nd at Tsutaya O-East, Tokyo, and the one who became number one at the final was Yuigadokuson, an idol group who have been gathering attention in Japan.

Death Rabbits, AndCrazy, Yandoll, Stella☆Beats, Pinafa, Maeda Irori, Pyuacco, Yuigadokuson, d-girls and G→L, total of 10 groups participated to the final. This day was the day when the winner who would get to perform at Japan Expo would be decided. The fans of the 10 groups of course came to see the show, but besides that, the fans of all idols who participated to Tokyo Candoll came to see the final, along with Japanese media.

During the finals, the 10 groups showed an even more powerful performance than they did during the semifinal. Besides the votes from the fans (each fan had to vote for 3 groups), there were also official judges giving their votes for the groups. The idol who got the most points with all points combined would win the contest.

During the announcement of the results, all 10 groups who performed that day came to the stage. There were no smiles on the members’ faces, as they waited anxiously for the results. “Let’s announce the winner”, the MC said, and all girls closed their eyes, waiting. The winner’s song would start playing any minute. The melody that filled the venue the next moment was a song from Yuigadokuson. The four members stood startled, and when they finally realized it was their song, tears started streaming down their cheeks. The four members were guided to the middle of the stage. “Are you serious?!” they asked when they were handed a microphone, not really understanding the situation. When they finally realized that what was happening was real, they greeted the audience by saying: “The fact that we won means that everyone recognized our skills even for a little bit. We are so happy, thank you so much! We will keep doing our best!”.

We are looking forward to see what kind of performance they will show us at Japan Expo.
