It has been announced that AKB48 members Kawaei Rina and Iriyama Anna were attacked and injured by a man during a handshake event held in Iwata.
The man used a sharp object, a knife or a saw, to attack Kawaei Rina and Iriyama Anna. He injured both members of AKB48 and a staff employee before being arrested by the police.
They have been taken to hospital by ambulance.
Their lives are not in danger.
More details have been given on their health. Kawaei Rina fractured her right-hand thumb and got slashed on her right arm. Iriyama Anna broke her right-hand little finger and got slashed on her head and on her right arm.
The 24-year-old man was in the line with the other fans of the idol group to meet the girls.
The event took place at the Iwate Industrial Culture Center.
