The 7th AKB48 Senbatsu General Election 2015 (第7回AKB48選抜総選挙2015) was held on June 6 at Fukuoka Dome.
The results of the AKB48 41st Single Senbatsu Sousenkyo (AKB48 41stシングル 選抜総選挙) were announced. Sashihara Rino ranked 1st with 194,049 votes. Kashiwagi Yuki and Watanabe Mayu came in 2nd and 3rd position with respectively 167,183 and 165,789 votes.

The track listing and the Senbatsu members selected from AKB48, SKE48, NMB48, HKT48, NGT48 and Nogizaka46 have been announced. Shimazaki Haruka got the center position.

AKB48 announced the creation of a new unit named Dendenmu Chu! (でんでんむChu!).
The idol group consists of 7 young members, 5 from AKB48 and 2 from HKT48.
The selected girls are Owada Nana, Mukaichi Mion, Murayama Yuiri, Kawamoto Saya, Taniguchi Megu, Tanaka Miku and Yabuki Nako.
Watanabe Mayu (AKB48) will be starring in the drama Tatakau! Shoten Girl (戦う！書店ガール ; Bookstore Girl).
The drama will start airing on Kansai TV and on Fuji TV in April.
Watanabe Mayu will play the leading role alongside actress Inamori Izumi.
Kawaei Rina announced her graduation from AKB48.
