Maeda Atsuko in Asaki Yumemishi ~Yaoya Oshichi Ibun

Former AKB48 member Maeda Atsuko will be starring in the drama Asaki Yumemishi ~Yaoya Oshichi Ibun (あさきゆめみし～八百屋お七異聞).

The story takes place in the Edo period. Maeda Atsuko plays the role of Oshichi, a girl falling in love with a page at a temple where she evacuated to after a great fire. After this event, she is accused of having caused another fire to meet him again…

Asaki Yumemishi ~Yaoya Oshichi Ibun will start airing on September 19. The drama will be broadcast every Thursday at 20:00 on NHK.

Meguriai Showcase Vol.1 : Watashitachi wo Mite Kudasai

Meguriai Showcase Vol.1 : Watashitachi wo Mite Kudasai (メグリアイショーケース Vol.1: 私たちを見て下さい) will be released on DVD on August 9.

The DVD includes the 13 songs performed by Meguriai at the live, including their latest singles.

The concert was recorded on May 3, 2013.

Hagiwara Mai photobook Mai 2 Hagiwara Mai’s 2nd photobook Mai 2 (萩原舞写真集『まい2 』) will be released on August 5.

The photobook includes photos of the youngest member of °C-ute at school, taking dance lessons, doing after school activities, and in her everyday life. It also contains some pictures of Hagiwara Mai in swimsuit.

Dempagumi.inc (でんぱ組.inc) Dempagumi.inc released a new song titled Not Bocchi… Natsu (ノットボッチ…夏) on July 16.

It is a funk song.

This digital single is only available on iTunes and Mora.

It was suddenly announced on Dempagumi.inc’s radio show Bibi to Denpa Jack Now! (ビビッと☆でんぱジャックなう！) and released the following day.

Super Girls – Chouzetsu Zekkyou Land

Super☆Girls - Chouzetsu Zekkyou Land Super☆Girls will be starring in the drama Chouzetsu Zekkyou Land (超絶☆絶叫ランド).

In the story, the members of the idol group work as employees in an amusement park. After the impact of a meteorite, they are chased by monsters an try to survive.

The theme song for the drama, titled Survival, is performed by Super☆Girls.

The series will start airing on July 17. It will be broadcast on CBC and TBS networks.

AKB48 Sousenkyo! Mizugi Surprise 2013

The photobook AKB48 Sousenkyo! Mizugi Surprise 2013 (AKB48総選挙！水着サプライズ2013) will be released on August 5.

As its title suggests, this photobook includes photos in swimsuits of all the 64 members from AKB48, SKE48, NMB48, and HKT48 ranked at the 5th AKB48 Senbatsu General Election 2013 (第5回AKB48選抜総選挙2013).

It is the volume 5 of this annual series of photobooks which started being published in 2009.

Dream5 - We Are Dreamer Dream5 will release their 11th single We Are Dreamer on August 14.

The limited edition includes a bonus track. It also comes with a bonus DVD featuring the music video and the choreography footage.

The coupling song Kami-sama Ya Ya Ya (神様ヤーヤーヤー ) is the ending theme for the anime Little Battlers eXperience Wars (ダンボール戦機Wars) broadcast on TV Tokyo (テレビ東京系6局ネット).

The other coupling song Pararirura (パラリルラ) is the ending theme song for the anime Hana Kappa (はなかっぱ) airing on NHK E-Tele (NHK Eテレ).
